What do you guys think about our admins. recent desicions?

Fact: If students are "grinding" the lights will be turned on.
Fact: If students are caught "grinding" twice they will be kicked out of the dance.

What are the repercussions of this?

  1. This is kind of stupid of them to do. They treat us like adults only as long as it suits them. Seriously, what do they think is gonna happen, an orgy is gonna break out in the middle of the gym? If they want to say they treat us like adults, they better step up to the plate and do it. Otherwise, they shouldn't even pretend.

We should make our own homecoming, with blackjack, and hookers. In fact, forget the homecoming.

  3. i agree with you, logan. they claim to treat us like "adults" but what does that actually mean? its an extremely empty claim holding absolutely no water.

  4. ok so heres the facts directly from mrs. gotlieb, and mr.booth.

    1) if they see one person grinding lights will come on.
2)if your dress is above finger tips length you will not be let in, no refunds the night of the dance.
    3) you may only touch your dates shoulders, or waist, no hips at all
4)if they catch you grinding you will receive a call home and kicked out (obviously without a refund)
    5) music with a suggestive beat will not be played; no lill' wayne etc.

what i suggest.... wait to buy your ticket till friday (if nyou already bought your ticked get a refund) if they lift the rules about the lights and dress code then buy it on friday, otherwise you will receive a text with directions to a new dance party (close by)

i would understand if restrictions were put on "grinding" but keeping the lights on is absolutely ridiculous.

if there is grinding at homecoming (trust me there will be) we will no longer have the winter dance.

everything posted above is straight from booth and gotlieb.

  5. The sad thing is, even with all this outrage, it's too late to really get a boycott going. Most people are already planning to go to homecoming. If we had more time, or maybe tried to get into one of the assemblies, then maybe we'd have a chance.

  6. enforcing this rule 4 days before our homecoming is so stupid. if they think they are trying to make a point or prevent anything from happening they are obviously clueless. they are going to loose money off of this and also loose respect from their students. homecoming is suppose to be a fun time for all of us and they are turning it into an unnecessary mess.

  7. thats true, i just want people to be aware of what our school is trying to do to us. a boycott is my ultimate dream. but awareness of the situation is a more realistic appraoch

  9. these new rules are impossible to respect. think about it, homecoming is made of loud music, dark lighting and sweaty teenagers with raging high libidos. grinding in this environment is as natural as breathing. most of the school faculty is considered hopelessly out of touch by the student body. most of us perceive them as absolute tools, and respect for them is almost non existent. by enforcing this rule, they're just gonna drive all the students out of the gym. from there, most of them are probably gonna go find an empty parking lot and have sex in the car instead.

until further notice, any respect i harbored for the school administrators is now dead. this is a pathetic and paranoid response to something thats been going on at every dance this school has ever hosted

  11. seriously? the teachers control us enough they need to back down and chill out. grinding is not that bad at all compared to what we could be doing. the article just written in the newspaper stated that we dont have set rules for the dances becus the teachers trust us but after today i feel like they have no trust in us at all. we are basically being treated like little kids again when technically all of the senior class are legal adults. when we got into high school we were told that we would have many responsibilities and the option of choosing what we want to do so i say we choose to forget the teachers version of homecoming and have our own fun!!

  12. Would one of us be willing to run out during the friday assembly with the boycott sign? I think that would get the message across pretty well.

  13. Honestly, I don't know how I could make anything in this any better. I just wanted everyone to know that this gets a thumbs up from me.

  14. I think it's a good that peple ARE NOT buying tickets and all... Im deffinettly not...

BUT one thing we need to keep in mind is normally the money from homecoming ticket sales isn't NEEDED by the school. they dont depend on the money from homecoming to help our school financially. Most of that money goes to the dj and things like that anyways. If they dont make enough money they will pobably just cancel the next dance....

I hate how this is happening senior year and Im just as pissed off as everyone else is but i just want people to keep that in mind...

:( i've deffinetly lost respect for the administration.

  15. I think it's the student's choice...
    Seriously.
It's a bummer all of this is happening senior year (like many people have said) and also I think some people are making it a bigger deal than it should be.
Just go and dance it up! If you get kicked out then go party somewhere else!
However, I do think the administration has taken it way too far with the limit on the dress length considering most people have already bought theirs!
I really do hope things work themselves out.

  16. I heard from a few people that the rules are to keep parents happy but come homecoming they won't be enforced,

and mrs. gerlich made it sound that way.

  17. @bloggerthehut - Mrs. Swank also said something to that effect.
